REQUIRED SUPPLIES

Below is a list of supplies needed for the Nutcracker performances. Please purchase these items based on your dancer’s casting. Some items will need to be brought to BCB by a certain date.

Please make sure that your dancer wears layers when arriving at BCB and the theater. All tops should be zip-up or button-up so that it doesn’t need to be pulled off over their heads. Students should bring a “nice” outfit (no sweatpants/sweatshirts) to wear after the performances to greet family members and friends in the lobby.

Hair

All students will need to have the below hair supplies backstage for each performance. Students should arrive at BCB and the theater with their hair already done. Please bring the following supplies in case touch-ups are needed.

  • Hair pins
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair nets
  • Strong hold hair gel (no hairspray is allowed in the theater)
  • Hairbrush and comb

Please use strong hold hair gel  to ensure that there are no fly-aways and that hair will be able to withstand hats, wigs, masks, and hairpieces being taken on and off.

Ballet 1 – Low bun, no part
Ballet 2 – High bun
Ballet 3 – Braids to fit under their wig and soldier hat (Party Boys), or high bun (Party Girls)
Ballet 4-5 – High bun
Ballet 6 – High bun

Make-up

Students in Ballet 3 and up will wear stage make-up. We will hold a “Stage Make-up Lesson” for these classes, dates TBD. Ballet 1 and Ballet 2 students do not need to wear any make-up.

Students should arrive with their makeup already done for Studio Dress Rehearsal, Dress Rehearsal, and the performances, but we recommend that students bring all make-up supplies in case touch-ups are needed.
